Chris is a non-parent Level 4 certified USA Hockey Coach. He has coached at the Midget Major/U18 level for 56 years (52 as a head coach) and will be starting his 5th season with Compuware Youth Hockey. Chris started coaching with the Grosse Pointe Hockey Association in 1966 and then went on to coach the Slasor Heating and Cooling Midget Major team in 1973; from there an independent team called the Saints. Chris became a Detroit Tier 1 head coach in 1974 for 27 years winning 23 State Championships and 9 National Championships. He was fortunate to have coached many NHL pros such as Mike Modano, Kevin Hatcher, Wayne Presley, Sheldon Dries, Jalen Chatfield, and Jordan Oesterle. Chris also has coached over 100 future college players. Chris also worked as a full time Amateur player scout for the Detroit Red Wings from 1983-1996. Chris brings a wealth of experience to the program and is noted for his attention to individual techniques and fairness in dealing with the players.
Pat is a non-parental Level 4 certified USA Hockey Coach. Pat grew up in Rochester Michigan and played for Compuware Youth Hockey and in the NAHL and the OHL for the Detroit Compuware Ambassadors/Detroit Jr. Red Wings. Pat was the first American drafted 1st overall in the OHL. He was the Washington Capitols first round selection in the 1991 NHL entry draft at 18 where he played until injuries shortened his career. Pat has over 16 years of head coaching experience at the AAA level. This is Pat’s sixth season coaching with Compuware Youth Hockey.

Pat has coached four National Championship teams. He continues to work with NHL players he coached in minor hockey.
Greg is non-parental head coach who grew up in Brantford Ontario. Greg played goal for the Oshawa Generals (OMJHL), the Adirondack Red Wings, and the Detroit Red Wings. Stefan began his coaching career with the Detroit Jr Red Wings of the OHL which later became the Plymouth Whalers where he was head coach for two seasons. Greg was with the NHL Carolina Hurricane organization as a scout, goalie coach, and assistant coach. In 2006, Stefan won the Stanley Cup as goalie coach/scout with the Carolina Hurricanes. Greg is a Level 4 certified USA Hockey Coach. This is Greg’s sixth season coaching with Compuware Youth Hockey. Greg’s 2020-21 15 Only team won the MAHA State Championships and participated in the USA Hockey Nationals Championships; participant in 2022 USA Hockey Nationals Championships
Sean is entering his 10th season coaching at Compuware. He also spent time coaching at other Detroit Tier 1 programs in between his time at Compuware. He grew up playing in the metro Detroit followed by brief stints in Junior hockey. In addition to coaching, he has scouted in the NAHL, OHL, BCHL and USHL, where he is entering his sixth season in the league. Sean has also spent the past four seasons as the Player Advancement Director in addition to his Assistant Coach role with the Major Midget team. Sean is a non-parental Level 4 certified USA Hockey Coach.
Andy grew up playing hockey in the Compuware Youth Hockey program and then moved on to playing for the Compuware Tier II Junior team in the NAJHL. From 1990-95, Andy played college at Yale University for USA Hall of Fame coach Tim Taylor where he set a school record for short-handed goals in both a season and career. Post college, Andy played a couple of years of professional hockey - a stint that included time playing in Sweden as well as a season playing for the legendary John Brophy. Following his playing career, Andy coached hockey at Cranbrook Schools with his father, a High School Hall of Fame coach. From 2005-2013, Andy served as an assistant coach on the Cranbrook Boys’ Varsity team winning five State championships and having several players go on to play in college, minor pro, and a few to the NHL. For more than 25 years, Andy spent his summers instructing hockey at various camps. Andy is a Level 4 certified USA Hockey Coach. This is Andy’s eighth season coaching with Compuware Youth Hockey.

Paul grew up in Marquette Michigan playing hockey since the age of three. Paul played AAA for the first ever Midget Major team in Marquette, and then joined the Marquette Redmen High School team. After graduation Paul joined the United States Marine Corps. After his four years in the Marine Corps, Paul enrolled at Eastern Michigan University where he played four years of club hockey and then turned to coaching. Coach Fassbender spent three years as an assistant at EMU before becoming the Head Coach. After five years as the Eagles head coach he stepped down at the end of the 2005 season. Paul returned to doing 12 seasons as a High School Head Coach with his last stop at Saline High School. He has also been an assistant coach for the Compuware Midget Major team. Paul is a non-parental Level 4 certified USA Hockey Coach and brings a hard work dedicated mentality to the Compuware program. His goal is to help the development of these young athletes to become better hockey players and represent Compuware with respect and dignity. This will be Coach Fassbender’s second year with Compuware Youth Hockey.
Coach Carvey grew up in Metro Detroit playing at the Tier 1 level. He played college hockey at North Dakota State University at Bottineau. Chuck is a non-parental Level 4 certified USA Hockey Coach with 20 plus years as a head coach and an assistant coach. Coach Carvey has coached with Compuware eight years with three state championships and one National Championship. He also has ten years as a head coach at Detroit Country Day School; recently, the past two years as an assistant coach. Mentorship, individual and team development are part of his core values.
Coach Elland is currently a NHL scout for the Carolina Hurricanes. He was the 2014-15 Plymouth Whalers head coach and prior to that he was the assistant coach for four years. Coach Elland has worked with multiple professional, college and junior players during their development years. Don played for Paddock Pools from 1981-1983. Don is a non-parental Level 4 certified USA Hockey Coach. Coach Elland has nine years coaching experience for Compuware AAA.
