Bantam AA '05 Head Coach Anthony Lietz

Anthony Lietz is a non-parental Level 4 certified USA Hockey Coach. Lietz spent four seasons as an assistant coach with the Compuware 2002 Tier 2 club who had much success developing players for the next level and winning many accolades including a state championship in 2016 at the Bantam A level. After spending the last two seasons at the High School and AAA levels with Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard High School and Belle Tire ’06 as a head coach, Lietz is looking forward to returning home to begin this next chapter with Compuware Youth Hockey. In high school Lietz spent time playing for Belle Tire and Farmington High School before numerous concussions kept him from moving on. Lietz moved to Orlando, Florida and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Film Production (Communications) from Full Sail University in 2013. Lietz assisted the coaching staff of the NCAA Division 2 Rollins College Lacrosse team as their Video Analyst. Lietz focuses on building a winning mindset while keeping the game enjoyable and improving the skill of each player on the team throughout the whole season. 

Bantam A  '06 Head Brian Tucker

Brian is a Level 4 certified USA Hockey Coach and has been coaching youth hockey for over ten years at various levels from mites through bantams.  He has over 40 years of hockey experience and continues to play today.  This is Brian's fourth year with Compuware Youth Hockey.  Brian's coaching style focuses on fundamentals, skill development, working hard, being a great teammate, learning life lessons, and having fun in the entire process.

PeeWee AA '07 Head Coach Matt Mitchell

Matt is a Level 4 certified USA Hockey Coach and has been coaching youth hockey for 20 years; 16 years as a head coach and six years as an assistant with the 1993 and 1999 birth years, and three years as head coach with the ‘02-03 AAA girls birth year.  He has been both a parent and non-parental coach and has coached from learn to play hockey to the High School level.  Matt is non-parental and his coaching staff’s philosophy is to develop hockey players to their highest capabilities and to help guide players to the level of hockey they desire.  This is Matt’s 11th season coaching with Compuware Youth Hockey.

PeeWee A '08 Head Coach John Brown

John began playing hockey at the age of three and grew up in a hockey family with both parents heavily involved with youth hockey administration and coaching. He was a member of the Lakeland Hawks travel teams for seven seasons before heading to Milford High School where he played at the varsity level for all four of his years in high school. John was recognized as a team captain as well as being named All-State, All-Conference and All-County during his High School career. He went on to play for the CSHL Metro Jets. He returned to Milford High School as an Assistant Coach where he remained for the next three seasons. John has worked at a number of hockey schools as an instructor and was also a registered Official (referee) for several seasons.  John is a certified Level 3 USA Hockey coach. This is John’s second season coaching with Compuware Youth Hockey.

Squirt AA '09 Head Coach Tim Osburn

Tim has been playing and learning the game for over 40 years.  Tim played four years of college hockey at U of M Dearborn (1986-1990).  After college, Tim played for Sweden’s Sunne IK for a year.  Tim has fifteen years coaching experience, will be non-parental, and is a Level 4 certified USA Hockey Coach. Tim has been coaching at Compuware since 2011 and has coached from mini-mites through Tier 1.  In the 2018-2019 season, Tim coached the PeeWee Minors who played in the prestigious Quebec PeeWee Tournament.

Squirt A '10 Head Coach Chris O'Donohue

Chris is presently a Level 2 certified USA Hockey Coach, as well as player and coach for 30 plus years. Chris has years of experience with USA Hockey and the ADM model, working with various age groups including learn to play, mini-mites, mites, squirts and peewee hockey. In addition, an experienced head coach and or assistant with travel hockey programs ranging from mite thru high school over the last 20 years.  Chris is dedicated to helping youth players with skill development, teaching and raising their level of competition, as well as instilling a respect and love for the game of hockey.  This is Chris's second season coaching with Compuware Youth Hockey.

Mite AA '11 Head Coach Zach Palmer

Head Coach, Zach Palmer, played his youth hockey in the Oshawa Generals AAA program through his Minor Midget OHL draft year. He was selected to attend training camp for the U16 Team Ontario team for the Canadian Winter Games, along with playing on a select MHA team for summer showcase tournaments. Following his youth career, he attended the Hill Academy (Vaughan, Ontario), where he was selected as the first ever captain of the hockey program. He led the team to a winning record the first two years in the program’s history. As a 17-year-old, he then received an offer for a spot on the Aurora Tigers Junior A hockey team, in Ontario. Zach has coached goalie camps, as well as private lessons throughout his career. Coach Palmer also had a career in lacrosse; graduating from Johns Hopkins University in the top 20 all-time in scoring, and proceeded to play three years of professional lacrosse between Ohio and Minnesota.

Assistant Coach Andy Weidenbach Jr: Andy Jr played his youth hockey with Compuware Youth Hockey and went on to play college at Yale University followed by a couple of years of professional hockey. Following his playing career, Andy Jr coached hockey in various positions at Cranbrook Schools. From 2005-2013, Andy Jr served as an assistant coach on Cranbrook's Boys’ Varsity team winning five State championships and having several players go on to play in college, minor pro, and the NHL. For more than 25 years, Andy Jr has spent his summers instructing hockey at both his own and others hockey camps. Andy Jr is a certified USA Hockey Coach. This is Andy’s fifth season coaching with Compuware Youth Hockey.

Mite A '12 Head Coach Mark Demmer

Mark is currently a certified USA Hockey Coach, as well as a player and coach for over 30 years. Mark has several years experience coaching in the Compuware organization focusing on the ADM model for mini-mites and mites. In addition to coaching hockey, he has several years experience coaching other youth sports. Mark is dedicated to helping youth players grow on the ice and off it; and is driven to give back to the game of hockey which gave him so much over the years.
