In a joint press release, Compuware Arena announced:
>USA Hockey has entered into an agreement with the intent to purchase Compuware Arena.
>The Compuware youth program will remain in place.
>Mr. Kamanos will continue to sponsor the youth program.
>It is important to Mr. Karmanos that the Compuware Youth Hockey program remains in place.  It is also important to USA Hockey that the program continues to operate and play out of the arena for now and the future.

“Our intention is to relocate the National Team Development Program to the facility and also use it to host and showcase other USA Hockey programs and international events,” said Ron DeGregorio, president of The USA Hockey Foundation and USA Hockey, Inc. “In addition, keeping the current users of the building is important to both us and Pete Karmanos. There are a number of issues we’re still working through, and while I know people will have questions, we’ll have nothing further to say until a final resolution is reached.”

Mike Vellucci was quoted saying: “Peter Karmanos has been involved in hockey sponsorship for over 30 years and has always done what’s best for employees, players, and fans and I am sure he will continue to do so.”
