Beginning with the 2015-2016 season, MAHA elected to limit the number of Tier 1 Boy organizations in Michigan. All organizations/teams wishing to play at the Tier 1 level needed to apply to the State Playoff Committee. At the December State Playoff Committee meeting, Compuware was awarded Tier 1 status for its Boy teams. There are a total of 10 teams at the Midget Major level and 8 teams for Midget Major and below. Each of these organizations will field teams at the Midget Major, U16, 15, Bantam Major/Minor, PeeWee Major/Minor, and Squirt Major levels. Each MAHA Tier 1 organization must play the other MAHA Tier 1 organizations two games per season, 1 home and 1 away. The rule also limits the number of non-Michigan players.
